Working Principle
The device operates on the Venturi Effect, a principle of fluid dynamics where a vacuum is created by the flow of water itself.
- Constriction: Pressurized water enters the injector's inlet and passes through a narrowed section (throat), which increases the water's velocity.
- Pressure Drop: According to Bernoulli’s principle, as velocity increases, the fluid pressure decreases, creating a partial vacuum.
- Suction: This vacuum "pulls" the liquid fertilizer from an external tank through a suction port and into the main water line.
Key Components
- Main Body: Typically made of UV-stabilized, chemical-resistant plastics like Polypropylene or POM to withstand agricultural chemicals.
- Suction Port: The entry point for the liquid solution, often equipped with a check valve (non-return valve) to prevent water from flowing backward into the fertilizer tank.
- Bypass Assembly: Most systems are installed on a bypass line to allow for better control of the injection rate without restricting the main water flow.
Technical Specifications
- Sizes: Common sizes include 3/4", 1", 1.5", and 2" diameters.
- Pressure Requirements: Suction typically starts when there is a 20–30% pressure differential between the inlet and outlet.
- Power: It requires no external electricity or moving parts, making it a low-maintenance, cost-effective solution.
